About Tim Clark
TIM CLARK - DRIVER TRAINING is an experienced Driving School established in 1996 and based in Barrow In Furness in Cumbria. I offer professional friendly tuition from a Top Grade 6 DSA Approved Instructor using a modern dual-controlled vehicle. The first class service offers you a complete driver training package and additional courses and lessons to further your driving skills.
My aim is to prepare you for the forthcoming Driving Standards Agency practical driving, theory and hazard perception tests, and to teach the suitable skills and knowledge needed to both pass these tests and become a safe and competent driver in todays ever-changing driving environment.
I have been an approved driving instructor, registered with the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) since 1996. You will only ever learn with myself on a professional one-to-one basis. Please note that we do not use trainee driving instructors but we can recommend other qualified male and female instructors should you choose to undertake semi or intensive driving courses.
All Driving Instructors are subjected to a regular test of continued fitness and ability to teach. The Driving Standards Agency grade each individual instructor on a scale of 1 to 6. Currently there are 40,600 driving instructors nationally and out of that number only 4.9% are graded as the top Grade 6. I am one of these Grade 6 instructors who have been tested and certified as constantly giving a teaching performance to a very high standard.
Over the last few years I have enjoyed a pass rate of around 70% which puts me, as an instructor, in the top 6% of all instructors nationally. The current national average pass rate for learner drivers at all attempts is around 44%,with the first time pass rate being even lower. There is a big differance in pass rates between a top Grade 6 instructor and lower grade instructors that often offer cheaper lessons. You should always ask your instructor their grading and more importantly as to whether they are fully qualified or a trainee instructor. Many driving schools won’t inform you that you may be learning with a trainee instructor unless you specifically ask.
A lot of my training is actually having to retrain pupils that have come to me from other driving schools and have either been unhappy with their training or have taken multiple driving tests and been unsuccessful. If you are having problems or keep failing your test then please speak to me as I know I can help you whatever your problems.
All lessons are tailored to your needs and I follow the official DSA teaching syllabus for learner drivers. So whether you are a complete novice, have just failed a test elsewhere or need a refresher course then your needs will be catered for.
